Many people have been saying the new Nexus 7 is just a less expensive version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, which is great considering the tab can cost upwards of $200.  While this may be true, we wanted to do a comparison of the two to see which mobile field service device would be best out in the field.

The holidays are one of the best times to purchase new mobile field service devices for your guys.  There are sales and deals every other week, and you can usually get a steal on many newer items.  With more and more field service management businesses leaning towards smartphones and away from PDA’s, now is the perfect time to do some research and find the right device for you! 

We decided to do a comparison of two of the most popular devices on the market right now: the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3.

I love the NFL draft. Which, I’m sure, most people think is silly. Why would anyone spend four days watching grown men cry after getting drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 5^th round? Why would anyone enjoy watching Mel Kiper’s chia-pet hairdo? And why would they listen to his horrific player rankings that don’t seem grounded in any sort of game film analysis, or even any knowledge of the game itself? 

So you just bought new devices for your office.  You have been needing them for months and finally were able to purchase these awesome new gadgets. Congrats!  Now go buy a case and quick!

I went up to my cabin this last weekend.  We hung out on the lake, had bon fires, and just had a blast.  Okay, okay I’ll stop bragging now.  We went in to the nearest town the first night for dinner and saw that the newest addition was a cell phone tower.  I thought, “Awesome!  My cell will actually work up here finally!”  Boy was I wrong.  But I couldn’t figure out why.  I thought that with the new tower, I would be good to go.  Instead, it was the same as always – dropped calls and no service.

This past weekend was my mother’s birthday.  As a gift from my siblings and I, we offered to buy her a smartphone.  My mother was resistant to the world of smartphones for quite some time but finally realized the benefits of it and decided she was ready.  So off to the store we went! 

Tablets are becoming a pretty common item among the field service industry.  They are very convenient for the field side of your business.  But how do you know which one to choose?  We took the liberty of comparing two of the top tablets on the market right now: the iPad and the Galaxy Tab 2.  Remember, there are many tablets out there in the world, we just decided to take the two “favorites” to find out which would work best for as a field device.

I don’t know about you guys, but slow computers can really affect my whole day.  I have too many things going on to wait for the box under my desk to chug along (plus low patience levels don’t help my mood).
