One Simple Tip for an Easier Work Day Within Your Field Service Company

One Tip for An Easier Day within your field service companyReady for that one simple tip?  Here it is: Figure out your company’s daily process.

What does your field service company need to do to ensure each day is successful and productive?  There could be a number of variables needed for a productive day.  Things like:

  • Did all of your techs time in this morning?
  • Have you run a back-up of your computer?
  • Did you check the schedule to see what is happening for the day?
  • Did someone look through the incomplete work orders and figure out why they weren’t complete or when they can be rescheduled?

By figuring out what your company must do every day, you develop a process.  This process ensures nothing falls through the cracks, nothing is forgotten or lost, and nothing is left incomplete with no explanation.

Within our field service software program, we require our customers complete a list of “daily must do’s.”  These “daily must do’s” include things such as checking on employees’ timesheets, sending work orders to invoicing, and handling incomplete work orders.  We created the list so our customers knew what they needed to do with our software every day to ensure it runs properly.

The point is to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.  Figuring out your company’s daily process is a simple but extremely beneficial way to organize your company.  Whether you choose to make a list like we use, or find your own method, the main point is to be sure you and your company have a clear idea of what must be done every day and how it will be completed.
