Spring is a critical time for green industry business. This is the time that people are looking for people to do work on the exterior of their homes. They are looking for people to do basic landscaping, trim shrubs and the weather is right for irrigation installation. Spring is the time that green businesses, like yours, burst with new business and pick up new clients. However, marketing is a key component of this. If you do not market correctly, then those new clients are going to go somewhere else. Here are 5 tips for unique marketing strategies that will bring in those new clients this spring.

Become a Local Expert

Use the local paper or radio station to become the local expert in your town. Do radio interviews or offer to write a column in the paper, anything that will draw attention to your business and to what you can do. Be the go-to person for green industry questions. This will bring attention to your knowledge and make people in your area trust you. The more people you have listening to your advice the more likely these people will be willing to pay for your services.

Offer Special Deals

Everyone is looking to get a deal.  Go to your local home and garden store and ask if they'd be willing to advertise a deal for your services. Teaming up with local businesses is a sure way to get your name out there in an inexpensive way. You can also offer special spring deals; hang posters or fliers around the neighborhood, put ads in the newspaper, or hang signs in your office window. Good deals will bring in clients who are eager for quality work for a good price. If new clients are satisfied with your work they will be more likely to call you for work again, even if the deal is no longer active.

Go Door To Door

If the people are not coming to you, why not go to them? Go door to door and offer free evaluations. Go to local neighborhoods and offer to look around people’s yards, telling them what looks good and what needs work done. After you evaluate a lawn give the owner a free price quote and your business number. If you have any active deals or special offers, remember to mention them; this may help to push them toward becoming a new client.

Offer New Products

New products and services are a great way to bring in new clients. Look for products and services that are not similar to what you already offer. Also look for new types of seed you can use for planting or buy new equipment that you can advertise. To many consumers new equals exciting and it draws them in. Make new products and services a selling point.

Offer Free Services

Word of mouth is possibly the best way to gain new clients. Offer free limited-time services to places like hospitals, school, parks, and local sports fields. These are all places that need many different kinds of lawn care and landscaping, and places that may not be able to pay for it. These are also places that are great for word of mouth and other forms of advertisement. Offering these types of services will also draw attention to your green industry business in the local community.
