This annual cleaning is something that so many do, but they forget that it is not just important for your home but for your business as well. Any green industry business is going to have a spike in appointments and sales once spring comes around; and it is important to do some spring cleaning in order to attract customers, keep customers, and ensure an organized and efficient work place. Here are 5 ways that you can spring clean your business and keep revenue up during the warmer months.

Rethink Marketing

Green businesses get a lot of new business in the spring and summer because there is much more landscaping and lawn care to be done than there is in the winter. Right before spring, look over the marketing strategy you have been using. Is it still unique? Are you attracting clients? Are you meeting your goals? If you are dissatisfied with the answers to these questions it may be time to pump some new ideas into your marketing. By doing this, you put yourself on the road to success for the following months.

Renovate Your Website

Spring is the time of year to really look at your website and fix broken links, update your company information, improve functionality, and refresh the SEO page. You can even go a step further and make your site more aesthetically pleasing with new colors, a new background, or a more modern design. The overall goal should be to make the website easy to navigate and eye-catching for your clients.

Check Your Equipment

At the beginning of spring, bring out all your equipment you will need in the coming months. Inspect everything to ensure that it is working properly and is safe. Ditch anything you will not need or use and bring in new equipment to either expand your green industry business or replace what is damaged.

Organize and Revise Your Budget

This is the time of year whereit is essential to sit down and go over your budget. A successful business always has a grasp on their financial situation. Organize your paperwork into an easy to find place and create a working system for locating specific papers. Then, look over your accounts from the past year and create a new budget on your projections for the coming year. Of course, you can make changes to the budget as the year goes on but creating a clean budget for the year is important. It stops you from getting back-logged and helps you only spend money on the things you really need. You can even try instituting an online way of organizing your financial information, completely revamping your system and creating a way to get rid of all the papers lying around your office.

Rework Social Media

As people will be looking for a green business in the spring and summer month, early spring is a good time to revamp your social media strategy. Decide what platforms have really been working for you and get active! Decide who will post, when you will post, how often you will post, and what kind of content your posts will contain. Social media is a great way to grow a business but if the strategy is not right it won’t work; revamp yours so that your business continues to attract new clients.

Of course these are just 5 ways to get your business up and running smoothly this spring. As you begin the new season, watch for other easy-to-implement ideas that can help make this season the most profitable one yet!
