Why You Should Celebrate Halloween in Your Field Service Management Office

It’s Halloween!  You get to dress up as whatever you want!  You get to carve pumpkins and enjoy delicious things like pumpkin seeds and pumpkin pies!  You get to take your kids trick-or-treating and then eat their candy after their sugar comas hit!

And this is all awesome, don’t get me wrong!  But what are you doing at work for the holiday?  Did you know that holidays can be a great time to boost you field service management company's morale?

Holidays provide a change of pace.  They give us a break from our normal routine and can actually help to make a more productive work day!  Halloween is a special one because most businesses stay open for it, meaning you will have an office and trucks full of employees working that day.  Help to lighten the mood and make holidays fun and productive for all employees with these tips:

  • Allow costumes – dressing up is a tradition for many people.  Give your employees the option to dress up.  It gives everyone a good laugh to start off their day, and again, it’s something different.  Mixing things up can really boost moods in the office and out in the field.
  • Provide treats – candies and other treats are special things you can bring into work for the day.  Providing employees with a sugar high for the day won’t hurt, and who isn’t happier when munching on their favorite candy?
  • Decorate the office – have a day where everyone comes in and helps to decorate the office.  IT’s a good team building activity as well as getting everyone in the spirit for the holiday.

It can seem cheesy to celebrate Halloween as adults, but honestly you’d be surprised what celebrating a holiday can do for your field service management business.  Changing things up with your regular business day can help to change the entire mood of your office.  Employees will appreciate the light heartedness of the day and customers will see your company knows how to have some fun as well.  Happy people are more appealing so put on your mask and munch on some Snickers!  It’s Halloween!
