Accountants vs. Change

Accountants vs ChangeWe’ve already covered your techs and your office staff, so what do you do when your accountants resist a change to field management software?  They may be the toughest ones of the company to convince that change is a good thing.  Change is needed to grow and improve a company that hasn’t reached its greatest potential.

Most accountants are conservative.  Change is bad and if it ain’t broke, why fix it?  But keep in mind, you can’t keep the old system (in its entirety) and fix the problem.

Your money people are all about the details. That’s great! You need that in a company so things are not overlooked.  However, sometimes (okay, often) they get stuck on a particular detail that they cannot get past.  If you have discovered a solution that solves 80-90% of the defined problem, it makes no sense to throw it all out because a small item does not fit.

If the old system is perfect then stay with it!  If not, be flexible.  So remember, just because it ain’t broke doesn’t mean you can’t improve it.  Your accountants will adapt to a new system if you insist and persist.  Keep at it.  You started down this path to a solve a specific problem (scheduling, poor CRM, lost work orders, etc.), so keep going.  You’ll be glad you did!
