We know, we know! Our last post was just about the official first day of summer and the summer solstice. And we meant every word of it. But that does not mean you should focus all you got on the summer and completely forget about the coming winter.
Our point here is to always have a plan for your future. Never get too wrapped up in one thing or you’ll lose sight of the big picture, which should be to keep your company growing.
So while the 90 degree heat and beautiful weather should hold a lot of your attention, start planning for the winter!
- Calculate – Calculate how much you have now and hope to have by winter time. If you snow plow, figure out how much money you will have to spend
- Set Goals – Again if you snow plow, set up a goal of how much revenue you hope to reach. If you don’t plow, set goals for things you’d like to get done in the winter months. Maybe you need to buy new devices or equipment and you’d like to make it a goal to have them bought and set up by the start of winter.
- Purchase parts and equipment needed for the winter season – Perhaps you need new shovels, to stock up on salt, or you need a new software system. Purchase these in the summer months so you are prepared well ahead of time.
It’s important to have a plan for the future no matter what season you are in. By having continuous goals to reach, the company is not stuck. It is continuously growing. Plans are a great way to reduce stress and stay on track.
